Dr. Susan Berner, Medical Director

Dr. Susan Berner earned her medical degree from Wright State University School of Medicine. Her training continued with a residency in family medicine and a fellowship in geriatric medicine from University of Cincinnati. Throughout her years of training and two years post graduate, Dr. Berner acquired hands-on training by providing care for patients at various nursing homes, urgent care facilities, hospitals and geriatric practice facilities.

In 2007, Dr. Berner opened her own practice, Comprehensive Geriatric Care, LLC, with a mission of providing excellent medical care to a variety of patients in skilled, long-term care, assisted living and independent living facilities. Dr. Berner furthered her commitment to geriatric medicine by becoming certified in Hospice and Paliative Care in 2012 and a Certified Medical Director in Long Term Care in 2013.

Dr. Berner’s medical staff are MDs, PAs, NPs and LPNs with over 75 years combined experience. Dr. Berner and her staff are committed to providing compassionate, personal and professional elder care. Dr. Berner leads by example, delivering exceptional geriatric medical and palliative care to Comprehensive Geriatric Care patients and their families. Dr. Berner and her staff partner with the staff at The Sanctuary at Wilmington Place and other nursing homes, assisted living, independent living and hospice facilities to deliver high quality, comprehensive healthcare services.

In her spare time, Dr. Berner enjoys reading, swimming and playing with her eight rescued dogs and cats.

 


 

Dr. Michael Richardson, Physician

Dr. Michael Richardson joined Comprehensive Geriatric Care in October 2013. Dr. Richardson earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. His training continued with a residency in family medicine and a fellowship in geriatric medicine fro John Peter Smith Hospital. Dr. Richardson acquired hands-on training by providing care for patients at hospitals, urgent care facilities, family heath clinic and nursing homes. Dr. Richardson also provided international care on a mission assignment.

In his spare time, Dr. Richardson enjoys writing, creating and enjoying music, cooking and traveling with his wife.

 


Lisa Schlater, Physician Assistant

Lisa Schlater joined Comprehensive Geriatric Care in February 2012. Lisa earned her Master of Physician Assistant studies from Kettering College of Medical Arts in 2011. She acquired hands-on training through a sports medicine clinic in Mexico as well as at various hospitals, clinics and nursing homes.

Her experience also includes training at a pulmonary and critical care practice.

In her spare time, Lisa enjoys exercising and family activities with her husband and children.
