Dr. Mark Evans, Medical Director

Dr. Mark Evans is a native of Richwood, Ohio,  graduating from North Union High School in 1976 before going on to receive his Bachelor of Arts degree at Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio. Dr. Evans received his medical degree from the Ohio State University College of Medicine, completed a three year residency training in family medicine at Mt. Carmel Hospital and was board certified in family medicine in 1987.

Dr. Evans concentrated on geriatrics while working at the Gerlach Center at Riverside Methodist Hospital from 2000 to 2001. He has since been affiliated with several geriatric related facilities, acting as Medical Director for several geriatric related modalities in Central Ohio, including home healthcare companies. hospice agencies and intravenous infusion agencies.

He is currently an Associate Professor of Medicine at Ohio State University while also serving as the medical director at assisted living and nursing facilities around Columbus. Dr. Evans maintain active privileges at Mt. Carmel Medical Center.

Among his many hobbies, Dr. Evans enjoys music, plays piano, golfs and supporting his favorite sports team, The Buckeyes. He is a member of the Lifepoint Church in Hilliard, Ohio. Dr. Evans, a widower, is proud father to Abby and Nathan and is thrilled to be a first-time grandfather.

 


 

Dr. Theresa Calimlin, Physiatrist

Dr. Theresa Calimlin graduated summa cum laude from the University of Cincinnati in 2000. She attended the Ohio State University Medical School where she also completed her physical medicine and rehabilitation residency. In addition to being board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Dr. Calimlin is also board certified in Electrodiagnostic Medicine. Dr. Calimlin held a faculty position at the Ohio State University Medical Center prior to joining U.S. Physiatry in 2014.

U.S. Physiatry is a national organization of physicians specializing in physiatry or physical medicine and rehabilitation. A physiatrist’s expertise is in treating patients with traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, chronic pain and those who have suffered a stroke or amputation. They enhance and restore functional ability and quality of life in those with physical impairments and disabilities. Physiatrists are dedicated to providing the highest level of care across the rehabilitation continuum, allowing the patient to reach their maximum potential and improved quality of life. Dr. Calimlim is the cornerstone for the Columbus branch of U.S. Physiatry and the organization’s ambassador.
